The first YBCL Dream Lab event was held October 16-17, 2021. While the cohort could not meet in person due to the pandemic, the young people worked with PCIC to create the foundational "dream lab" space. With the Black Space Manifesto grounding us, we explored the past and potentials of YBCL, heard Okevia's poetry, connected to strengthen relationships, heard from Ramon Gabrieloff Parish, and saw art created by Mike Wird. From brilliant paths to reimagining new futures we learned about each other's projects, spoke from the heart, and learned about Black climate and justice leaders across the country. Food apartheid and justice! Livelihoods! Land! And we started "seeding the future" for a more powerful, success-filled movement.
